We are two groups of young people based in Philadelphia, VietLaoKhmer and the Bandung Reading Group.
VietLaoKhmer is a collective dedicated to understanding the common heritage shared between the Vietnamese, Laotian, and Cambodian people and the liberation movements of Africa and Asia. We anchor ourselves in the anti-colonial movement of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia and the Black Freedom Movement as a lens through which we relate to humanity. With this foundation, we struggle for ideas that lead to a positive transformation in human beings.

The Bandung Reading Group is a group of young people rooted in the philosophy and practice of the Black freedom struggle and the world anti-colonial movement. We are committed to studying and continuing the legacy of W.E.B. Du Bois, Martin Luther King Jr. and other freedom fighters for our times. Guided by the spirit and principles of the Afro-Asian Conference in Bandung and King’s vision of the World House, we seek to build positive unity for the advancement of peace and people’s democracy in America. We are primarily based in Philadelphia, and connected to the school of thought of the Saturday Free School for Philosophy and Black Liberation.
